  • Annual Exams
Yearly exams are recommended for the health of your pet. this includes a thorough physical exam by the Doctor. Any questions or concerns that you have may be discussed at this time. Recommendations for routine bloodwork, fecal test, and vaccines will be discussed with the doctor. Current exams (within one year)are required by law for dispensing of medicine and prior to any kind of medical procedure.

  • Dental Exams
Dental cleaning and procedures are recommended yearly to twice-a-year based on each individual patient. Dental care helps prevent tartar build-up, gingivitis, tooth decay, bad breath and pain. Extractions, x-ray and excessive tartar can cost significantly more, please ask for estimate before services are performed.

    • Although thorough cleanings require anesthesia, we do offer non-anesthetic dentals twice  on the second and forth tuesday for general cleaning on approved patients. If your pet comes in for a non anesthetic dental and after evaluation, is recommended for an anesthetic dental, there is no charge for the non anesthetic procedure or evaluation.

    • February is National Pet Dental Month. In celebration of this event, we offer a 20% discount on routine dental cleaning and polishing for your pets during the months of January and February. Non anesthetic dental discount 10% in February only.
  • General & Laser Surgery
Our doctors are very experienced in general and reproductive surgeries. All surgeries are carefully monitored with specialized equipment such as heart, blood pressure and SPO2 monitors. Our surgery table is heated to prevent hypothermia. Pain management is practiced on all of our patients and tailored to each individual patient. We offer the use of C02 laser for many surgical procedures to reduce bleeding and minimize post-operative pain.

  • Health Certificates
If you are planning to travel with your cat or dog, we can assist you in obtaining a Domestic or International Health Certificate. International travel frequently involves specialized testing and quarantine periods. Please call the USDA office or contact the department of agriculture for the country you plan to travel to for requirements and applications.
    • Current Rabies vaccine certificates are required for all health certificates for pets four months or older.
  • Laser Therapy
We have added a theraputic laser to our services. The Cutting Edge MLS Harmony therapy laser is the most advanced small animal laser on the market. This class IV therapy laser uses a multiwave system that offers greater benefit to the patient than any single wavelength system. Benefits include intense anti-inflammatory and anti-edemic effects, and also strong analgesic effect. We offer the laser treatments for arthritis, pain, swelling, surgical wound healing, and for pain and swelling from ear infections. Laser therapy is beneficial for healing of injuries including soft tissue, sprains and to reduce inflamation in cruciate ligament injuries.

  • Spay/Neuter
Our doctors routinely perform spays and neuters on dogs and cats. Anesthesia monitoring includes spO2 monitoring, heart monitors and blood pressure monitoring. We believe that pain management is an important part of this routine surgery.

  • Ultrasonography
Our Ultrasound machine is one of our favorite diagnostic tools. Typically used for diagnosing Bladder issues, Pyometra, Splenic and other abdominal tumors, as well as diagnosing and monitoring pregnancies. This amazing tool provides us with a window into the abdomen.

  • Vaccines/Vaccine Titers
Vaccines are for the protection of your dog and cat from specific diseases. Core vaccines for dogs include Rabies (required by law), DA2P (distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza), and Parvovirus. Also highly recommended is the Bordatella  and Canine Influenza vaccine (kennel cough) especially important for dogs coming into contact with other dogs at shows, grooming facilities, dog parks, day care and boarding facilities. We also carry the Rattlesnake vaccine highly recommended in any area that your pet may come in contact with snakes.

  • For cats, core vaccines are FVRCP (feline combo) for both indoor and outdoor cats, and FELV (feline leukemia) and rabies for outdoor cats.

  • We also offer the rattlesnake vaccine, Canine Influenza (H3N8) , Lyme vaccine, and Corona vaccine. Vaccine titers are also available for immune-compromised pets or to prevent over-vaccination.

  • Wellness Exams
We are now offering Wellness Exams in order to provide lab testing for an affordable price. Our Wellness exams include a full blood panel and urinalysis so that our doctors can diagnose problems with the liver, kidneys, thyroid and other organs at an early stage. This exam is recommended for dogs and cats 5 years and older.

Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.

Emergency & Urgent Care

We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your dog or cat may have. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency. For after hour emergencies, our telephone rolls over to Veterinary Specialists of the Valley on Ventura Blvd. for 24 hour care.

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments.
