Dear C.L.O.N.E. West Clients,

C.L.O.N.E. West was established in 1995 by Dana Bleifer, DVM.

We have canine frozen semen bank in Woodland Hills & in Pasadena CA. We are a full service canine semen bank with freezing, storing, and shipping services that are available for anyone desiring the ability to breed their Stud to dogs all over country and the world without shipping any animals. Frozen semen also makes it possible to breed a dog long beyond his lifetime.

Once frozen, the semen can be stored indefinitely in liquid nitrogen. The storage tanks require no electricity and are therefore not affected by power outages. It is also possible to ship semen in small tanks by FedEx etc... to locations all over the world.

Thank you for choosing CLONE West. I hope that this web site can assist you in answering some common questions regarding semen freezing requirements.

Sincerely,

Dana Bleifer, DVM

Q. What do I need to do to collect semen on my stud dog?

A.  That's an easy one! Just call one of our offices at the numbers listed below and we can make you an appointment.

Q. What will I need to bring to my appointment?

A.

  1. You are required to bring your AKC or other registration papers verifying that you are a current owner of the stud. (for unregistered dogs this does not apply)

  2. You will need a copy of your DNA Profile, or we can provide you a kit in order to obtain a DNA Profile on your stud dog.

  3. Please print out a copy of the Semen Storage Agreement. You can read this and fill it out prior to your appointment in order to save time. Semen will not be collected without a signed contract.

Q. What if I want to send my stud with an agent for collection?

A. Please provide that person with all the items above. In addition, semen will be collected and stored in Stud owners' name.

Q. Can I let someone else collect my stud and let them own the semen?

A. No and Yes. Semen Ownership can be transferred to persons, not listed as an owner on the registration papers, by completing a Semen Usage Form signed by an owner listed on the registration papers.

Q. Is there a cost for annual semen storage?

A. For 2006, the annual storage fees are $72.00 per year.

Q. How do I arrange to ship my frozen semen?
